POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Assistant will provide support to professional staff in the assigned team serving children and families. Key responsibilities include assisting professional staff –Multi-disciplinary team – with maintaining reports, records, documentation needs for cases, financial records and files. Collaborative PracticeSEE POSITIONS
POSITION SUMMARY:
Outreach Counsellors work within an integrated team environment to support and strengthen families that are involved in child protection services. They provide immediate support and short-term intensive service to Aboriginal families and Circle 5 Social Workers during the intake and early assessment phase of Child Protection Response. Counsellors will focus on reducing immediate safety risks and preserving the family unit. In circumstances where the child(ren) must be placed outside of the family home, Counsellors will work to secure alternate placement within the family network, while at the same time focusing on facilitating a quick return to parent(s).
Counsellors provide a cultural perspective in relation to risk and safety assessment, and assist families to understand legal jargon while minimizing boundaries to engagement in service.
Outreach Counselors are expected to work flexible hours – in a 35 hour work week, including evenings and weekends – to be able to respond to immediate child protection intake and investigation calls, and best meet the needs of the children, youth and families they serve.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Family Preservation Counsellors (Family Counsellors) work within an integrated team environment to support and strengthen families that are involved in child protection services.
The goal of the program is to reduce the risk of harm to the child in the home instead of placing the child in an out of home placement. Services are designed to help families learn new problem-solving and coping skills, appropriate parent-child interaction, discipline and behaviour management, as well as develop longer term natural social supports with the goal of avoiding future crisis.
The Family Preservation Counsellor provides an intensive in-home and community-based family preservation treatment program. The Family Preservation Counsellor delivers services in the family’s natural environment and when they are most receptive to learning. Family members, community and other supports are enlisted as partners in assessment, goal setting, and treatment planning.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working as part of a team, the Family Cultural Connections Workers work to ensure that each child in care has the best possible placement, and that a permanency plan is developed for each child under a Continuing Custody Order. Workers will build a care plan in response to each child/youth’s developmental and cultural needs with a focus on their Aboriginal identity and connection to their community. Working directly with children, youth, caregivers and families, an active and relevant cultural plan is not only developed, but its implementation is also supported. Family Cultural Connections Workers ensure that Permanency Plans are completed in a timely manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Human services diploma, or equivalent education and experience working with children and youth in care
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Experience modeling or mentoring positive cultural influence with knowledge and historical understanding of Aboriginal issues
- History of creatively developing cultural plans unique to the needs of each child, youth and community; ability to work with elders, chief and counsel and community members

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Family Strengthening Team Leader, Family Enhancement Workers provide services to families on and off reserve. The focus is on the facilitation of family growth and development, providing assistance in parental skill development and delivering support and family education programs as identified by a referral/assessment of the needs of the family.
The position of FEW has a variable work schedule, as there will be evening and weekend visits, which is a 35 hour week with up to 7 hours in a day.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of a two year (or longer) post-secondary program in a human services field or four years of related education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with children, parents, Aboriginal communities and community partners that are mandated to provide health, counselling and child and family services

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supported Connections program recognizes the importance of keeping children who are in foster care connected to their families by promoting meaningful family time through supported family visits. Supported Connections Workers provide families with support – not just supervision – and constructive, strengths-based feedback to help them have successful visits. To best support children and families, this position will work a variety of non-standard shifts such as Tuesday to Saturday late morning to early evenings.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

SAIP Workers have responsibilities for both intervention (counselling) and education of sexual abuse to Aboriginal children, youth and families on and off reserve communities across the Fraser Valley. In addition to engaging with a variety of community partners to maximize awareness and prevention, SAIP Workers use a variety of therapeutic techniques when directly working with Aboriginal children, youth and families.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Masters Degree with focus on human services, counselling or Social Work plus a minimum of two years counselling experience, preferably working with Aboriginal children and parents in an Aboriginal community or urban Aboriginal community setting

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Aboriginal Youth Transition Coordinator’s primary focus is to work directly with youth in care, community stakeholders, and staff of the agency in three service deliverables:
- Conducting Youth Transition Conferencing
- Organizing activities for youth in care to have meaningful input to the agency leadership
- Hosting and facilitating groups and programs for youth in care
The top priority of the Aboriginal Youth Transition Coordinator is to work directly with youth in care to organize and facilitate Youth Transition Conferencing. Youth Transition Conferencing is a process where youth in care design and host planning conferences with their support networks that will assist them in having sufficient life skills and supports once out of care. The Aboriginal Youth Transition Coordinator may also work directly with youth in care to ensure that their voice is reflected in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of a Youth Council as well as organizing the annual Youth Visions and Voices Forum. By working collaboratively with staff and agency stakeholders the Aboriginal Youth Transition Coordinator may also lead the development and implementation of programs and groups for youth in care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
